Tusker FC head coach Robert Matano has accused referee Caroline Wanjala of 'daylight robbery' after his side went down 1-0 to Gor Mahia in a Kenyan Premier League match played at Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos on Wednesday afternoon.
The eventful match saw Gor Mahia keeper Boniface Oluoch dismissed for denying Tusker FC forward David Juma a goal-scoring opportunity by fouling him outside the area in the 24th minute.
Nicholas Kipkirui went to score what proved to be the winner heading home a Samwel Onyango corner kick, a goal Matano feels shouldn't have stood although replays showed that the ball had crossed the line.
“This was daylight robbery. She allowed a goal that hadn’t crossed the line from Gor Mahia, which is very unfair on us," he said.
Wanjala went on to rule out a Bill Oporia equalizer for the champions and later denied them what looked like a stone-wall penalty after Philemon Otieno handled the ball in the area.
“She went on to deny us a clear goal and a penalty. She was clearly biased,” the veteran tactician, visibly agitated added.
The win took Gor Mahia to second in the table with 29 points, two behind leaders Bandari.
