Governor John Nyagarama of ODM has been battling in court with former Kitutu Masaba MP Walter Nyambati, who had his previous two petitions at the lower courts cancelled.

In a letter copied to all parties, the jugdes instructed all concerned parties to be sitted at the court by 9am. So far, only Wajir West election petition has survived in the Supreme Court.

Governor John Nyagarama is optimistic that he will sail through in the latest challenge, adding that his government agenda has been derailed by the petition.

"We are hopeful that we shall sail through. Nothing is impossible and certainly, I know the court will make a favorable ruling to our side," he said on Thursday.

For Nyambati, the affirmative decision by the Supreme Court will give Nyamira people and opportunity to make drastic changes.

"We all know that he lost. We need to go back to ballot to prove him wrong. The people of Nyamira were robbed," he said on phone from the US where he has been for months.

The margin between the two was 6,000 votes but Nyambati insists that 24 polling stations had results inflated in favour of Governor John Nyagarama.
