Kisii County Senator Sam Ongeri has asked politicians seeking to succeed governor James Ongwae to stop loitering across the county seeking fake endorsement from local politicians and elders.
Ongeri while speaking on Sunday after attending a fund drive at Mesabisabi grounds regretted that politicians are talking about 2022 instead of concentrating to serve the electorates first.
"It is sad that some leaders are talking of 2022 succession instead of first serving voters. For me it is too early to announce Governor Ongwae's successor," he said.
He assured that he can't endorse anyone for the county's top seat before the right time.
Ongeri confirmed that he is committed to oversight the county leadership without fear or favour.
"No one is going to blackmail or intimidate me. I am focused on playing my oversight role to ensure the county leadership is running smoothly. An endorsement will come at the right time, for now, let us serve the people," he added.
He reiterated that MCAs should work closely with Governor Ongwae to develop the county.
"MCAs should use public funds well to fund various projects which shall improve the lives of our people," he noted.
