Not many of us would have the courage to eat raw meat. We ensure that it is properly cooked before we consume it.

Renowned British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) business editor Larry Madowo broke the norm on Wednesday.

In a video shared on his Facebook Page, Madowo is seen eating raw, red meat while having a good time with his Ethiopian friends at a hotel in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

"You’ve been wasting your time cooking your meat! I ate raw meat (tere sega) in Ethiopia and it changed my life! Spread the word 😉," he wrote.

The top journalist takes a piece, dips it into some source and then starts chewing, uncertainty written all over his face.

It seems to taste nice as he takes another bite, triggering laughter from his Ethiopian friend.

People are advised to adequately boil meat before eating it so as to kill the bacteria.

It was not clear from Larry Madowo's video whether the red meat he was eating had been treated to ensure that it didn't pose any health threat to him.

Eating raw meat is part of Ethiopian cuisine.

There are communities in Kenya like the Maasai that are said to drink raw blood.

Madowo is known to be on the lookout for adventures and trying out new things, adventures he chronicles on his social media accounts.
