Maalim also wants the Senate scrapped out, noting that it is the only way to cut on the ballooning wage bill.

He further wants the Women Representative seats abolished.

According to Maalim, Kenyans are over represented with duplication of roles.

“The only way to reduce on the wage bill is by scrapping the senate, women rep seats, reduce counties to 15 and also reduce number of MPs,” he said in a tweet.

Maalim is also proposing merging of independent and constitutional offices.

The former MP notes that some independent offices need to be put under one umbrella for efficient and effective service delivery and also save on taxpayers.

The former MP also wants the executive budget reduced and channeled to needy sectors.

Maalim says that Kenyans are over-burdened with taxes.

He warns that unless urgent measures are taken to cut on the wage bill then the country will plunge into economic crisis.
