The political rivalry between former Machakos Senator Johnstone Muthama and Governor Alfred Mutua may not end soon.

This is according to political analyst Peter Ngure.

Ngure says the duo's rivalry will heighten more in case the Supreme Court dismisses Mutua’s appeal that is challenging the appellant court's ruling which nullified his August 8, 2017 election victory.

The expert says Muthama and Mutua might never sit on the same political table.

He notes that the political differences between the two famous Kamba leaders are irreconcilable.

“Political supremacy attacks between the two leaders are expected to heat up ahead of the Supreme Court's ruling on Mutu’a appeal,” Ngure notes.

Ngure says Muthama could shock Machakos residents by contesting in a by-election should the Supreme Court dismiss Mutua’s appeal.

“Muthama is unpredictable and can make shocking moves in the coming days,” says Ngure.

Muthama has continued attacking Governor Mutua claiming he is not performing.

The former senator claims that Mutua is a let down to the people adding that he warned Machakos residents against voting for him in 2017 polls.

Mutua, on the other hand, has often castigated Muthama accusing him of envy.

The Machakos county boss has several times branded Muthama as a hindrance to Ukambani and Machakos development.

On Sunday while speaking in Tala, Muthama asked Machakos MCAs to impeach Mutua.

He said there is no point for the MCAs to continue complaining about the Maendeleo Chap Chap governor when they can impeach him.

“It is simple to deal with Governor Mutua, just initiate a motion of impeachment and table it in the county assembly,” Muthama said.

Muthama and Mutua fell-out in 2013.

Their political relationship has continued to be frosty.
