A week ago, Ms Kamoni made an urgent blood appeal to save her life in a Communication done by Capital FM.

"Urgent #BloodAppeal: Ann Kamoni, admitted at Coptic Hospital, is in urgent need of 6 pints of blood O+ positive.Contact person, Don," read the post.

Ms Kamoni, who survives with a daughter, worked as a photographer for many media houses among them NMG and SMG.

And during 2017 campaigns, Kamoni worked as the official photographer of Orange Democratic Movement party leader Raila Odinga and his team.

Former Deputy Director of Communications for ODM Mr Seth Odongo alias Dikembe Disembe mourned her as a diligent individual who finished her assignments in time.

Mr Odongo, now working as an aide to Minority Chief Whip Junet Mohamed, said that Ms Kamoni had collapsed sometimes back in Orange House.

"Her name, like many of her kind, only appeared on papers as a credit on a photo. I met her fighting addiction. She once broke down at Orange House. She had waned, and it showed. That she fought till now only showed her dogged determination, to win. Sad she lost," he said.

"Dennis Onyango, who had brought her to work briefly for Raila Odinga as a photographer, and from where I got acquainted to her, tells me she leaves behind a daughter. Ann Kamoni is a good soul. I wish her rest," he added.

The party's Director of Communications Philip Etale also confirmed the death on his Twitter handle on Monday morning. He did not give more details.

"May you rest in the arms of the Lord who formed you from the dust of the earth. My friend Ann Kamoni, may Christ who died for you admit you into His garden of paradise," he said.
