The former President is expected to meet President Uhuru Kenyatta, and Opposition Leader Raila Odinga before visiting his ancestral home in Kogelo, Siaya county.

Speaking ahead of Obama's visit, Kisumu Deputy Governor Dr Ochieng Owili noted that the visit offers the county a unique opportunity to market itself to investors.

He  made a special appeal to business people in the county to come out and take advantage of the visit.

"Passionate plea to business community; come out and make real capital of this important visit," Owili said during a press briefing.

He noted that so far, the county had already started recieving international delegations, adding that most hotels in the Lakeside city are currently fully booked.

Dr Owili welcomed Obama to the county stating; "Karibu Kenya, Karibu Kisumu Karibu nyumbani."

During the visit, Obama will launch a number of projects at his ancentral home in Kogelo village.

The former President is expected to come with a delegation of top world business leaders and influential personalities.
