During the Mashujaa Day celebrations at Bukhungu stadium on Saturday, Uhuru scolded Mr. Kiunjuri over delayed payment of farmers by the Agriculture Ministry.

"Minister Kiunjuri, look for those who squandered money for farmers and hand them for prosecution. If you can't do that, then I am coming for you," he said.

Farmers across the country are yet to be fully paid by NCPB despite the government having budgeted for it, even as preliminary investigations show that only few 'ghost' farmers were paid.

In a lengthy press conference on Tuesday, Kiunjuri instead faulted EACC and detectives for delay in acting on a report done by his ministry.

"I have gone to parliament for questioning, filed a report that pointed out where the problem was and truly speaking, I am innocent.

"EACC should do it's job. We are waiting for them to act on the report. Detectives should act on the report and arrest culprits,"he said.

Mr. Kiunjuri also caught himself in a quagmire during Nairobi International Trade Fair when Uhuru was captured furiously engaging him in mother tongue over the delayed payment of maize farmers.

For the better part of Sunday and Monday, Uhuru put his emphasis on payment of farmers, a move that could have worried the minister.
