Residents of Kebirigo in Nyamira County are mourning the death of a 35-year-old man who committed suicide by hanging himself in bedroom on Thursday.
Confirming the incident, Nyamira Police boss Lilis Wasila said the deceased Ombuya Ongaga Apira has been desperately living alone.
"Ombuya woke up early in the morning and greeted his family members telling them goodbye only for his lifeless body to be found dangling from the roof of his house in bedroom," said Wasila.
The police boss said the reason behind the man's decision to commit suicide remains a mystery.
"It is not clear why Ombuya killed himself because he didn't quarrel with his family members. We have launched probe to know the main reason he killed self," he noted.
He said the body was moved to Nyamira hospital mortuary.
Wasila urged men married or not to stop ending their lives and urged them to seek spiritual guidance when faced with difficulties.
"Members of the public more especially men when faced with challenges should seek guidance and counselling from members of the clergy," he added.
