Intrigues within Jubilee party could escalate following reports that President Uhuru Kenyatta may have warned Mt. Kenya MPs against attending DP William Ruto's rallies.
This comes even as Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria dismissed the reports insisting that nobody has been gagged.
"We accompany the Deputy President to development projects . I have not been gagged," Kuria told the Standard.
Despite planning for a PG last Tuesday, Prsident Uhuru Kenyatta cancelled the plans with sources indicating that he may have done it as a precautionary measure to avert fallout.
But a Nyamira MP, who has been part of the team accompanying Ruto across the country, confirmed that the ban was true.
"I have talked with a section of my colleagues and they have informed me. They were warned against moving with the DP across the country.
"The major reason given is that the trips are more of politics than development. Those behind it think the trips will derail Uhuru's agenda," he said.
Two camps have emerged within the ruling party with that supporting Ruto identifying itself as 'Tanga Tanga' while those backing Uhuru labelling themselves 'Kitaeleweka'.
Jubilee Vice Chair David Murathe seemed to confirm as well the sanctions insisting that the President is keen to deliver.
"Watch this space, there will be no 2022 politics especially in Mt. Kenya in the near future," he said.
