Police officers in Kisii town have been urged to ensure the streets are clear of all prostitute.
According to Kisii County commissioner Geoffrey Kigochi, now that schools are closing this week for August holiday, school girls may take advantage to operate as prostitutes especially at night.
“Police officers have a responsibility to patrol and clear the streets. Twilight girls should not be allowed in the streets at night since even school girls may join the illicit business,” he said.
The county chief called on parents to be vigilant and ensure their daughters don’t sneak from their bedrooms at night to attend discos in the village or at nightclubs.
“Parents should keep a sharp eye on their children especially girls who may sneak out at night to attend discos and nightclub dances. Police will be on patrol 24 hours to ensure immortality is at zero during the August holiday,” he noted.
Kigochi warned adults against luring school girls into sex saying the law will not spare anyone engaging in illicit sex with school girls.
Kigochi urged chiefs in deep villages to keep watch and ensure cases of schoolgirls being lured into sex are zero in their areas of administration.
