The chairman of Moi University Student Organization (MUSO) Nickson Kemboi has cleared the air on recent reports of the closure of Moi University’s three satellite campuses.
This comes shortly after Hivisasa highlighted the anger of the students at the main campus after reports indicated that Moi University’s Nakuru, Kericho and Mombasa campuses had been shut down.
Speaking to Hivisasa via phone on Monday, Kemboi said the media reports have presented a false impression of the closure of the three satellite campuses.
“The recent reports from the media present the impression that the campuses were closed last week. But the reality is that the Nakuru and Kericho campuses have been out of operation for a very long time. Some have been closed for as long as almost a year,” Kemboi stated.
The newly-elected student leader also went ahead to address the closure of Mombasa campus which contrary to the recent reports, is still functional.
“The Mombasa campus, on the other hand, still fully operational. The reports that the campus has been closed are false and should be ignored,” Kemboi noted.
Kemboi also urged students who were transferred to the main campus from other satellite campuses to understand that the move was to ensure efficient delivery of services from the institution.
