Police officers in Nairobi are holding a city lawyer accused of defiling his five children.
The police say that the five are part of his 11 kids and also believe that the lawyer also sexually assaulted his house help.
Confirming the arrest, Gigiri OCPD Richard Muguai said that the lawyer, whose name is being withheld to protect the children, will be arraigned in court once the investigations are through.
“The matter has been taken over by the DCI headquarters. The only thing we are doing so far is having the suspect within our custody,” said the police boss as quoted by the Nation.
According to the daily, the lawyer was previously a director at a State regulatory board, runs a mega law firm with offices across the nation and has a team of nine lawyers.
The matter which had been kept secret was made public when he took three of the children, two girls and a boy for HIV and gonorrhoea tests at the MP Shah Hospital on Tuesday night.
The doctors believed that he has a reason to believe that they were defiled, and alerted the police when he said that he had not reported the case to the law enforcers.
Among the victims is his adopted daughter. The lawyer is also a known polygamist.
