Besides being a reunion, Kirinyaga Governor Ann Waiguru's meeting with Raila Odinga, her sworn political enemy, was ordinary.
After the meeting, the two announced their decision to bury their past and forge on towards bright future.
But it's the reference to Raila as 'Prime Minister and His Excellency', titles that she rarely called him that left the country in confusion.
"This is a powerful handshake. Making Waiguru to refer to someone she rebuked as Prime Minister and H. E is not something easy," said Mark Onyango in Migori Republic Council.
David Amenya added: "Indeed the spirit of handshake was strong. Today Jakom (Raila) is getting addressed with respect, quite amazing."
The first time governor also agreed to drop Defamation case against Mr Odinga, which had dragged in court for almost three years.
In 2016, Raila addressed a press conference where he directly linked Waiguru to the loss of Sh791 million from NYS kitty, thus the animosity between the duo.
