Makueni nominated Member of County Assembly (MCA) Magdalene Mulwa has urged Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua to support Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka’s 2022 presidential bid.
Mulwa said Mutua will spoil for Kalonzo if he insists on vying for the presidential seat in 2022.
She stated that Kalonzo stands a higher chance of winning the presidential election that governor Mutua.
Addressing the press in Makueni town on Friday, Mulwa said Ukambani must walk and speak together ahead of 2022 elections.
“Our brother Governor Alfred Mutua should consider stepping down and back Kalonzo’s 2022 bid,” Mulwa said.
Mulwa said Ukambani stands a good chance of producing a president in 2022 if its leaders and residents unite.
She said Kalonzo is experienced enough to take up leadership from President Uhuru Kenyatta who is serving his last term in office.
The MCA said they are strongly behind the former Vice President as Kamba politicians.
Kalonzo and Mutua are among the top politicians who have declared their interests to contest in the 2022 presidential election.
The two top Kamba leaders have maintained that their names will be on the presidential ballot come 2022.
