A 30-year-old man has lost his life after a fatal hit and run accident along Kangundo-Nairobi road in Nguluni area, Matungulu sub-county.
According to a police report, the man identified as Kaimati Waireri died on Sunday night after being knocked down by a vehicle that did not stop, just a few kilometres to Nguluni market.
"KBC police station is reporting a fatal accident that occurred at an unknown time last night 12th January along Kangundo Nairobi road, at Kwa Mumo area involving an unknown motor vehicle and deceased adult male namely Kaimati Waireri," the report read in part.
Traffic police visited the scene and took the body to Kangundo level four hospital mortuary for preservation.
In an interview, Matungulu deputy Sub-county police commander William Ngombo urged residents with information any information regarding the accident to visit the nearest police station.
"Anyone who may have information about the incident should inform us so that we can patch up the few details we have," said Ngombo on phone.
