Allies of ODM leader Raila Odinga have taken a swipe at Moses Wetang'ula and Kalonzo Musyoka following the outcome of Kibra parliamentary by-election.
Raila's spokesman Dennis Onyango and ODM youth leader Seth Adongo popularly known as Dikembe Disembe mocked Wetang'ula and Kalonzo after their preferred candidate performed dismally in the Thursday's polls.
Ford-Kenya candidate Khamisi Butichi emerged at a distant fourth with 260 votes despite being endorsed by Kalonzo whose Wiper party did not field a flag bearer.
Onyango laughed at Butichi's performance, saying it was unexpected since he had blessings of two political bigwigs who were 'equal' to Raila in the National Super Alliance (NASA) coalition.
"This is a polite reminder that Ford Kenya, with the backing of Wiper, managed only 260 votes in Kibra. Moses Wetangula and Kalonzo Musyoka, the leaders of Ford Kenya and Wiper respectively, were co-principals in NASA," Onyango tweeted on Friday night.
On his part, Disembe accused Wetang'ula of reducing Ford-Kenya to a 'joke' despite inheriting it as a strong party from its founders led by former Vice President Jaramogi Oginga Odinga.
"Ford-Kenya, the party that Jaramogi built with blood and sweat and toil, is today a joke because of its current inheritors."
"Despite receiving support from Wiper, it only garnered 260 votes in Kibra! We Luos should take back this party and retire it in respect of the old man!" Disembe said.
Turning on to Kalonzo, the ODM youth leader accused the Wiper boss of failing to show leadership and warned him that Kitui Governor Charity Ngilu and his Machakos counterpart Alfred Mutua were about to snatch the Ukambani kingship from him.
"Kalonzo Musyoka has failed to show leadership once, not twice, but three times! In Kibra, the Kamba Community voted ODM to the last man. One wonders what will become the son of Musyoka. Spent all his productive years in KANU. Watch keenly Charity Ngilu and Alfred Mutua," Disembe posted.
