National Assembly Speaker Justin Muturi on Tuesday called off all parliament proceedings that had been scheduled to take place on Wednesday.

This is following the public launch of the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) report scheduled for Wednesday.

According to a memo dated November 26, 2019, the launch will take place at the Bomas of Kenya, Nairobi. 

"Honourable Members, following His Excellency the President's appointment of the Taskforce on Building Bridges to Unity Advisory vide Gazette Notice 5154 of 24th May 2018, His Excellency the President has notified that there will be a public launch of the Report of the Task force on Wednesday, November 27, 2019, at the Bomas of Kenya, Nairobi at 10 a.m," part of the memo read as quoted by the Star.

The memo further indicated that President Uhuru Kenyatta had personally invited all Members of Parliament to the much-awaited launch.

President Uhuru Kenyatta while in the company of ODM leader Raila Odinga and Deputy President William Ruto received the BBI report on Tuesday at the State House.

The BBI report has been at the centre of politics in the country and Wednesday will be the climax as details of the report will be launched.

The BBi taskforce which finished its assignment last week was tasked with investigating and recommending solutions to nine key issues affecting Kenyans. 

The key points included; ethnicism, lack of national ethos, inclusivity, devolution, divisive elections, security, corruption, shared prosperity and responsibilities and rights.
