Self-declared National Resistance Movement (NRM) general Miguna Miguna is known for his constant criticism of the Jubilee administration.
The vocal lawyer has been making headlines recently following his deportation to Canada over his role in the controversial swearing-in of opposition chief Raila Odinga on January 30, 2018.
Here are nine things you probably didn’t know about MIguna.
1. Miguna was born in 1963 in Magina village, Nyando, Kisumu County.
2. He went to the University of Nairobi where he served as a student leader in 1987 before he was detained by the Moi regime for his political activism.
3. He fled to Tanzania on foot after his release, then to Swaziland before he was later granted political asylum in Canada.
4. He was admitted to the Kenyan Bar in 2008, 13 years after being admitted to the Canadian Bar.
5. Miguna has published six books with the most popular being his memoirs Peeling Back The Mask: A Quest for Justice in Kenya and Kidneys for The King: Deforming the Status Quo in Kenya.
6. He is the last born in his family and was breastfed until he was in class one.
7. Miguna has one brother and five sisters.
8. He was named after his father and his first name is Joshua.
9. His father died before he was born.
