Loving ourselves, truly! is the answer to all of the questions that we throw at ourselves whenever we are feeling discouraged, and lonely. Understanding how to love yourself can help you cope with failure and rebuild your confidence, and help you enjoy a better life. 

Here are some tips on how to become a better version of yourself:

1. Self-respect

You yourself, as much as anybody in the entire universe, deserve your love and affection. Until you value yourself, you won't value your time hence people will tend to just walk all over you and make you feel crappy about yourself. Love yourself first and everything else falls into line.

2. Embrace your flaws

Stop focusing on your negative aspects and focus on the aspects you’re good at. We’re all human and all of us have our own flaws and good sides, whether it’s seen by others or not. By only acknowledging the negative side, you’re forgetting the wonderful side that can actually be shared with others.

3. Work from within outwards

Self-love requires you to be honest about your current choices and thought patterns and undertake new practices that reflect self-worth. Imagine how you treat yourself on a daily basis as if you were another person, in a relationship with you. Are you good to yourself? Is your mind kind to your body and soul? Unless you begin changing from within then you won't be able to achieve any sort of happiness.

4. Exercise and workouts

There's nothing more therapeutic as a vigorous and engaging gym session or even a morning run. It clears out the mind completely and leaves you empty and refreshed. Exercising lets you sweat out the exhaustion and stress that life has to offer. Furthermore, it makes you feel awesome about yourself and boosts your self-esteem. Simply sitting back on a couch and wondering how to lose weight is not going to help you anyways.

5. Self-drive

If you really want to know how to love yourself, be determined and focus on starting to make little positive changes every day. It could be issues related to your work, health, or even your own personal dreams. Whatever they may be, be determined and pursue them with all your heart. By doing this, you’ll respect and love yourself a lot more.

6. Be confident in your dressing

Spend time to understand your physique and pick clothes up that look good on you. Get a great haircut, buy well-fitting clothes and dress like a million bucks. You won’t believe how much of a positive boost just good clothes and a great posture can give anyone.

7. Draw inspiration from awesomeness

It inspires to have a person who serves as an example of the values, attitudes, and behaviors associated with what you deem appropriate and fit. Having such persons tends to re-energize our drive in the pursuit of our own success. By understanding the way they think or deal with difficulties in their life, it can give you the inspiration to learn and become a better person.

8. Socialize and explore

Sitting at home coiled in self-loathing won't do you any good in the long run. Socializing and listening to other people's take on life will eventually show you that you’re neither alone nor are you the only one who feels miserable about their life. By interacting with happy people who share your thoughts, you’ll feel better about yourself. And when others love you and your company, you’ll love yourself and respect yourself more.

9. Be gentle with yourself

Don't be too harsh on yourself, after all, you're only human! Embrace life with open arms instead of a clenched fist and a grit of the teeth. Give yourself some time, and wait for the good times to roll in. Progress might seem not to be forthcoming, but trust yourself to push forward one step at a time. The journey of a thousand miles begins with a step.
