ODM party leader Raila Odinga's camp suffered a major blow on Saturday after ODM governor ganged up with his Deputy to warmly welcome Deputy President Ruto.
Kisii County Governor James Ongwae with his Deputy Joash Maangi teamed up to welcome Deputy President H.E William Ruto for a church service at Nyakoora Catholic church in Kitutu Chache North.
Ongwae who was sponsored by ODM party during the last year's polls showed up to welcome Ruto.
A local politician Thomas Nyamote said Ongwae's appearance at Ruto's function is a clear indication that leaders are tired of Raila dictatorship.
"Before 2022, Raila will be left alone with a few confused politicians in ODM. Ongwae seems to have seen the light in Ruto's camp thus turned up to welcome him yet he is a political rival to Mr. Odinga who doubles as the ODM party leader," said Nyamote.
The ANC party allied politician argued that the Gusii community may not vote for a leader in 2022 because of his or her political seat.
