Havoc was on Friday experienced in Eldoret as pedestrians who were travelling to various parts of the country from the town were left stranded.
Long queues meandering in different stages in the town would be seen from a distance as passengers flocked waiting for matatus.
This would have been caused as a result of the recently imposed 'Michuki rules' that has left many Public Service Vehicles (PSVs) avoiding the road in fear of being nabbed.
“Travelling today was tedious and disastrous. I strained a lot waiting for matatus to pick me from Kesses to Eldoret town,” Lamented Edward Washighadi, a fourth-year student at Moi University.
He also said some of his fellow friends who were travelling to different towns like Kisumu had to reschedule the journey due to lack of travelling means.
“Passengers were scrambling for spaces in the few matatus that had fully met the required road standards,” noted Washighadi.
A quick check in the town would see many people in long queues while others were stranded.
The University of Eldoret graduation had also made things worse.
During graduations, people travel from different parts of the country to attended and celebrate this big day with their loved ones.
