"Fuel prices hiked but, that doesn't give room for motorists to overcharge passengers. Let motorists charges passengers reasonably as we wait on the national government to act and bring down the prices," he said.

The ODM governor exuded confidence that once President Uhuru Kenyatta returns from his foreign trip, he will ensure fuel prices go down.

Ongwae urged residents to adjust their budget when traveling and be willing to pay for their fares to stop unnecessary drama at bus stages.

He said MPs should not blame one another but, focus on finding the solutions facing the electorates.

"MPs should stop exchanging words over fuel prices. The leader should find solutions facing the electorates who are their employers and not crying in public accusing Finance Cabinet Secretary Henry Rotich over the 16 percent VAT on petroleum products," he stated.
