Renowned gospel artiste Ringtone Apoko has revealed that he made a lot of money during the 2013 elections when he supported the UhuRuto ticket.
Speaking during an interview on K24's Upclose show, Ringtone said he was paid around Sh500, 000 per day for ninety days, leaving his bank account stuffed with lots of cash.
He noted that the money he has comes from his music career, adding that music pays very handsomely.
"Music pays, I made a lot of money when President Uhuru Kenyatta used my song. Can you imagine you have a campaign for like 90 days where you are paid Sh500,000 every day? How much is that for nine days, how much is that? That is a lot of money to buy you a house in Runda," Ringtone said.
The controversial gospel artiste claims he has a number of palatial homes and about six cars.
During the Upclose show, he drove renowned television journalist Betty Kyalo in a white Toyota Land Cruiser V8 with a number plate branded with his name.
He also weighed in on his difficult childhood, revealing that he was born in a poor family and went to the streets after his mother abandoned him.
