Kikuyu MP Kimani Ichung'wa has accused Jubilee secretary-general Raphael Tuju of undermining the party.
The legislator's accusations come after former Limuru MP and Tuju were blasted, in an alleged phone conversation, talking about 2007/2008 post-election violence.
Recorded audio believed to be of the two has been doing rounds in social media platforms.
While speaking at a function in Trans Nzoia county on Saturday, an event attended by Deputy President William Ruto among other leaders, Ichung'wa asked Tuju not to claim the recording was fake, but to blame himself for being fake.
"Therefore, we want to sound it off to our own secretary general. Stop lecturing us that, that recording is a forgery. If there is anything that is a forgery, it is you, yourself that is a forgery," the MP told Tuju.
He also accused the ruling party's secretary general of hatching a plan to scuttle the journey to bring development and foster unity as envisaged in the party manifesto.
"You cannot be undermining and sabotaging the road that President Uhuru Kenyatta has set out; the road to unite the people of Kenya and rally them behind one agenda of transforming this country and changing people's lives and bringing development like we have done today," noted Ichung'wa who is a close ally of DP Ruto.
Some Jubilee leaders allied to the DP have expressed concern over the duo's sentiments in the recording and have hence, called for the resignation of Tuju from the party.
