A healing crusade held at Nairobi has divided most Kenyans in the middle as they disagree over the rally’s happenings.
Prophet David Owuor’s miracles during his healing crusade at Nairobi’s Central Park on Saturday and Sunday have been questioned.
Owuor has been accused of being a fake prophet who is stage-managing miracles to dupe a gullible flock.
The Society of Atheists in Kenya (AIK) rubbished Owuor’s miracles and asked the government to protect its citizens from the ‘science of brainwashing’.
"It is unfortunate that, given the many challenges facing Kenya's health sector, the government can allow a person to mislead Kenyans by claiming to have supernatural healing powers,” Atheists in Kenya (AIK) President Harrison Mumia said.
Mumia claimed they have evidence that all the miracles performed are fake.
“We have evidence that Prophet Owuor's purported miracles are stage-managed with the aim of persuading a gullible, desperate public to believe in the miracles. Most of his prophesies are aimed at inciting fear and giving false hope," Mumia alleged.
The remarks have however been condemned by The Ministry of Repentance and Holiness followers who accused Mumia of being an agent of the devil.
“I am shocked that someone can question the work of the Almighty God. He is not insulting the Prophet but God himself and he will face His wrath soon,” Peter Oduol said.
