A local politician allied to ODM party has spoken about Raila Odinga's trip to China.
Samuel Omwando, the Kisii County ODM chairman slammed Raila for agreeing to help President Uhuru Kenyatta negotiate for a loan from the Chinese government for the extension of the Standard Gauge Railway (SGR).
The vocal politician said Raila should stop being used by President Kenyatta to over borrow from foreign countries.
Omwando wondered why the country will borrow money instead of recovering the stolen money which some individuals have pocketed.
"Raila should take care because he is being used by Uhuru to borrow money. At the moment, this country doesn't need to borrow loans because the borrowed money may end up into few individuals' pockets," he said.
He reminded Raila that he is the official opposition leader who has now boycotted his job.
"The former Prime Minister needs to know he is in opposition and not in government. Helping Uhuru to negotiate for a loan from the Chinese government means he is no longer an opposition leader," stated Omwando.
Omwando unsuccessfully vied for Kitutu Chache South MP seat in 2017 polls.
