A video showing fully-uniformed police officers announcing Prophet Owuor's crusade beforehand has caused quite a stir online.
Kenyans are used to seeing police maintaining law and order or in compromised situations such as taking bribes but not announcing crusade.
The police officers are seen imploring the residents of Nairobi to make a point of attending the religious gathering so as to have their problems solved.
Here is what residents of Garissa had to say about the viral video:
''Police should not be doing that. They should be maintaining law and order,'' Mumina Khatib said.
''Has Boinett seen this? Those officers should be subjected to disciplinary measures,'' Aiyan Abdi said.
''Let them spread the good news,'' Habiba Amina said.
''Freedom of worship is a constitutional right. The police officers are exercising that right,'' Jamila Korane said.
''Police officers should not openly advocate for a particular religion as they serve Kenyans from all religions,'' Jared Omondi said.
