The 2018/2019 English Premier League (EPL) season came to an end on Sunday, with Manchester City defending the league crown after amassing 98 points, one point ahead of second placed Liverpool.
Harambee Stars Captain Victor Wanyama was in action as his Tottenham Hotspur side drew 2-2 with Everton at home to end the season at position four with 71 points, one ahead of fifth placed London rivals Arsenal.
In a series of posts on Facebook, Wanyama thanked fans for the support through the entire season.
“Till next season. Next Madrid 1st June #uclfinal,” Victor Wanyama posted on his Facebook page.
“Thanks for your support,” Victor Wanyama said another post.
Wanyama and his teammates are done with the 2018/2019 EPL season, but still have to prepare for probably the biggest game of their football careers; the UEFA Champions League final.
The final will be played at Atletico Madrid’s Wanda Metropolitano Stadium in Madrid on June 1, 2019.
Liverpool qualified for the final after defeating Spanish heavyweights Barcelona, while Spurs booked a spot at the final after beating Dutch side Ajax Amsterdam.
After the Champions League final, Wanyama is expected to head straight to the Harambee Stars training camp for preparations ahead of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations set to kick off on June 21, in Egypt.
