President Uhuru Kenyatta and Deputy William Ruto on Monday pitched tents in different parts of Garissa County. Speaking during the tour, Ruto said that National Super Alliance (NASA) Presidential candidate, Raila Amolo Odinga withdrew from the rerun because he had sensed defeat.

The second in commander also asked residents of the region to shun the opposition so that they can form the next government.

“The reason he has withdrawn is he realized he will lose by a bigger margin” said the Deputy President, as quoted by Capital FM.

Ruto also said that the leaders of Jubilee accepted to go back to the people for votes because they respect the constitution of this nation.

“We have accepted to participate in the 26th election not because President Kenyatta won or because he will win but because we respect the constitution” said the Deputy President.

On his part, President Uhuru asked the residents to turn out in large numbers and ensure that he beats, Raila, who is taking a fourth Stab at the nation’s top seat when that time comes. He also attacked leaders of the opposition saying that they have nothing new to offer to the residents of this region.
