In a post on his Facebook page, DP Ruto who has lately been hosting leaders from different counties in the North Rift and Western regions expressed the need to work together with all leaders.

“We must foster expansive, working relationships with all leaders; a strong ideology and elaborate mechanisms, including consolidating the gains of devolution for long-term growth. Engaging leaders from Busia and Bungoma counties led by Busia Governor Sospeter Ojaamong, Sugoi, Uasin Gishu County" posted Ruto.

The visit of leaders from the Western region comes at the time when DP Ruto seems to be focusing on the region in what is believed to be a strategy to get the maximum support ahead of his 2022 presidential bid.

Ruto has made numerous visits to the Western region which for a long time has been perceived to be a stronghold of ODM leader Raila Odinga.

The visits seem to be bearing fruits and the DP hopes the vote-rich region will help him succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta in 2022.
