The DCI confirmed the arrest on Wednesday through their official Twitter account.

In the tweet, the DCI noted that the detectives worked in collaboration with Immigration Department Officers to arrest the 41-year-old suspect moments after he landed in the country from Ethiopia.

The suspect identified as Ledivin Mupanga.

"Mr. Ledivin Mupanga, a Congolese national was Yesterday arrested at JKIA by @DCI_Kenya Detectives working jointly with @ImmigrationDept officers. The 41-year-old suspect was nabbed on arrival from Ethiopia following a Stop Order that had been placed by Serious Crime Detectives," DCI tweeted.

Mupanga is accused of obtaining USD 97,500 under the false pretence that he is a dealer in gold but he never lived to fulfil the promise.

The suspect later went missing after he had received the cash from the complainant.

DCI said they are still probing the matter and more suspects are expected to be arrested and charged.

"The suspect is accused of obtaining USD 97,500 in March this year from a complainant with the FALSE promise that he could purchase #Gold for him & thereafter disappeared. He is in lawful custody awaiting arraignment in court Today. Further investigations are ongoing," noted DCI in another tweet.
