Nominated Member of County Assembly (MCA) Margret Njeri gave the notice of the motion on Wednesday accusing Thangw’a of mismanaging funds allocated to his ministry.

Njeri claims that the CECM failed to display leadership during the implementation of various projects undertaken by his ministry.

Standard Digital reports that some of the programmes in question include Kiambu Super Cup, Jijenge Fund and driving school project.

The MCA furher accuses Thangw’a of going against the Public Procurement and Disposal Act, 2005 by overseeing the disbursement of Jijenge Fund.

She also claimed that the Sports CEC failed to provide information when asked by the assembly’s Committee on Youth, Sports and Social Service.

The committee had heard that Thangw’a in July used Sh1.9 million during the launch of Kiambu Super Cup tournament, an event that was organized at the county headquarters.

Thangw’a has also been accused of insubordination to the acting Governor James Nyoro who took the administration of the County after Governor Waititu was barred from office by the court due to corruption charges he is facing.

The Sports CEC was further accused of being involved in politics.

The motion was referred to the House Business Committee by Deputy Speaker Philip Mubea for adoption.
