There is no bad blood between President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto, Kiambu Youth and Sports County Executive Committee member (CeC) Karungo Wa Thang'wa has noted.
Thang'wa, who is a close ally of Governor Ferdinand Waititu, made the observation during Ruto's exclusive interview with NTV on Thursday night.
The former Kameme FM presenter noted the DP spoke so highly of his boss, making him conclude the two Jubilee leaders were reading from the same script, contrary to reports they have fallen out.
"DP Ruto was so respectful to Mr. President Uhuru Kenyatta on NTV. I’m so convinced that they are so working together for peace and prosperity of this nation," Thang'wa tweeted.
During the interview, Ruto said his relationship with the President was intact and denied claims he has been sabotaging him.
"If there is respect and loyalty that can be displayed. There is no one who has displayed loyalty and respect to Uhuru than myself," he said.
On 2022 succession politics which he said was the thorny issue between the two, the DP said Uhuru was not under pressure to back him, since there was no agreement that he must do so.
Ruto, however, exuded confidence that the Head of State will endorse his presidential bid if he is nominated as the flag bearer of the Jubilee Party.
"I supported President Kenyatta not because I wanted him to support me thereafter. I never gave him a condition and I never made a claim," he said.
"One thing that I know about him is that he is going to support a Jubilee Party candidate when time comes. If that candidate is William Ruto, Uhuru Kenyatta will support me. If it is anyone else, Uhuru Kenyatta will support that candidate and I will also support that person," Ruto added.
