Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) National Executive Committee (NEC) member Kipkorir Menjo has hit out at politicians against the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI).
Addressing the media in Eldoret on Saturday, Menjo wondered why the politicians are already rejecting the report yet it has not been made public.
“The BBI report is yet to be unveiled but those opposed to the amendment of the constitution are already on overdrive against what they imagined. Surely how can you reject something that you haven’t seen? Let us not politicize everything,” he said.
He opined that those against BBI are selfish politicians who don’t have Kenyans' problems at heart.
“I thought one can propose amendments to the report when it is out to ensure inclusivity, but moving around the country talking ill about the report will not help Kenyans,” he added.
Menjo said leaders should wake up and support positive changes even if advanced by their opponents for the common good of Kenyans.
He urged those criticising BBI to wait until the report is released, and made public.
The Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) advisory task force, which was formed following the March 9, 2018 handshake between President Uhuru Kenyatta, and opposition chief Raila Odinga is expected to hand over its report soon.
