According to a political commentator David Osiany, the new found political warmth between Uhuru and his foe-turned-ally Raila Odinga may complicate matters for Ruto’s succession matrix if he turns his guns against the duo.

Speaking during a political show on KTN, Osiany advised the DP to go slow on his ambition and back the President to fulfill the promises they made during their campaigns, noting by doing so he will earn the trust of his boss.

"The DP should concentrate on what it is they ought to deliver to the citizens as the Jubilee Government," he said on Tuesday.

He further noted that "the president has made it clear that he wants to steer the country forward, he wants to overcome the challenges that the country has, he wants to focus on leaving behind a cohesive nature and to see whether or not we can deliver on the Big Four Agenda."

Osiany, who is also a close ally of Raila and youth leader in ODM, further urged the DP to move fast and calm the 'fear and despondency being exhibited by his supporters' in order to prevent the widening of an apparent rift in the ruling party since he is the Jubilee's heir-apparent.

"Ruto should visibly show his supporters that he is behind the president; that he is a deputy of a sitting president, that he obeys the call of the leader to lead the nation towards a particular destination," he remarked.
