Murathe shot into the limelight on December 26 when he poked holes into Deputy President William Ruto's presidential bid during the Maragoli Cultural Festival in Vihiga County.

He would later resign from the position, noting that he could no longer work alongside Ruto, the deputy party leader, in what Duale now claims was a coverup for his ouster.

In an interview on Citizen Television Tuesday evening, Duale revealed that the former Gatanga MP was actually chased out if the party by the party leadership over his remarks.

"As members of the party we thought that his remarks contravened the party standards and decided that he had to go," said that Garissa lawmaker.

Duale indirectly pointed at President Uhuru Kenyatta, the party chief, as the man who and led the issue and ensured Murathe's ouster.

"The party leader dismissed him, he had to go," he added.

Murathe has since vowed to go as far as the Supreme Court to block Ruto's bid, terming him unfit to run for the seat after the looming retirement of President Uhuru Kenyatta.
