Uhuru reportedly held a 3-hour meeting with retired President Daniel Moi before going to a funeral in Rongai.

And in Nyamira, leaders have lauded the move saying it's a sign of brotherhood and unity.

"When the president visits a former Head of State it sounds nice. That's the kind of unity we want," said Nyamira County MP Jerusha Momanyi at a function on Saturday.

Kitutu Masaba MP Shadrack Mose said the meeting was necessary to 'borrow' management tips for the sake of making right decisions.

"Moi has indisputable experience in management of the public affairs and it's really important to see the president visiting him," he said.

The meeting comes at the time simmering political temperatures have engulfed Rift Valley region over ongoing evictions from Mau Forest.

A Kanu Youth Leader Kipchumba Ronoh said the meeting focused on Mau Forest evictions, Big Four agenda, Handshake and fight against graft.
