Speaking on Citizen Television on Tuesday, the Bungoma Senator claimed that he is no longer part of the opposition's National Super Alliance (NASA), terming it dead.

But speaking in a press conference on Wednesday, the ODM brigade led by party Chairman John Mbadi hit back at the leader, noting that his presence in NASA was unneeded anyway.

He faulted Wetangula for considering himself an equal member of the NASA summit, stating that the alliance has actually been accommodating him out of mercy.

"We have babysat him for far too long and allowed him to enjoy the co-principal title which he does not even deserve," said Mbadi.

The remarks were echoed by Suna East lawmaker Junet Mohammed who dared the Senator to make true his threats and officiate his exit.

He further cautioned the lawmaker against likening himself to the former Prime Minister, stating that his political weakness states otherwise.

"How do you claim to be equal to Raila with only 6 members of Parliament?" he wondered.

In the interview, Wetangula said that Raila was only the first one among equals, hence his placement over the remaining 3 opposition chiefs.
