Police in Nakuru County are holding a man accused of defiling a secondary school student.
Abraham Kiplangat, a secondary school teacher is suspected to have sexually assaulted the girl when she went missing on June 21.
The incident was confirmed by Rongai sub-county Police Commander Richard Rotich who said that the girl was later found in the suspect's house later in the day.
He said that the suspect, 26, reportedly locked the girl in the house before defiling her.
"We are holding a teacher accused of locking a student in his house where he defiled her," said Rotich.
The police boss said that investigations have been launched into the issue, and the accused will be arraigned in court once the probe is complete.
"We shall arraign the teacher in court, once we are done with investigations," he added.
This comes only months after another teacher was caught red-handed while defiling a pupil in the staffroom.
The teacher was busted by his colleagues while defiling his class eight pupil in the staffroom late last year.
The incident happened in Njoro sub-county while other pupils were out on holidays to give room for the Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) exams.
