According to witnesses the burial that was to take place at Subuku village in Njoro on Wednesday afternoon, was executed very early in the morning leaving mourners in disbelief.

They said the burial ceremony for former Nakuru KNUT Organizing Secretary Njau Kuria was expected to kick off at 9 am but as mourners continued to arrive at his home, it emerged that the man had been buried hours earlier.

Current Nakuru KNUT Organizing Secretary Mungai Muhia confirmed the incident.

He said he was also shocked when he arrived at the deceased home at 8:30 am to help organize his burial only to be told his longtime friend had been laid to rest.

"I went in the morning to help coordinate activities of the day, but the family informed me that he had already been buried," he said.

He, later on however, said the decision to bury Njau in the morning was a family decision and he would not have objected to it.

He said the incident was the first to happen in the area.
