Senator Moses Wetangula has blasted Chief Justice David Kenani Maraga for his recent show off in praising and cheering President Uhuru Kenyatta on development to his county.
Speaking on Wednesday evening at KTN's point blank, Wetangula said it is regrettable to see the whole Chief Justice showering praise on the political outfit led by President Kenyatta positing that it was uncalled for.
"The Chief Justice should not be in public cheering the president saying he has brought development in his county. No," he said
Wetangula noted that CJ Maraga's action showed the level of compromise the Judiciary, which ought to remain independent, had fallen prey to the Executive arm of government.
Early this year, CJ Maraga came under heavy and intense criticism after he was captured on a political road stopover when President Uhuru and his Deputy William Ruto visited Kisii county to commission Kisii hospital.
The CJ, however, dismissed that he was under the control of the Judiciary stating that he attended the function in the capacity of the Kisii elder not as the CJ.
The Independence of the judiciary has since been questioned with President Kenyatta having vowed to revisit the judiciary after his elections were nullified by the Supreme Court in 2017.
