The Ford Kenya leader on Friday traversed the expansive Nyamira County where he attended a funeral at North Mugirango before presiding over an education day at St Peter's Nyaisa Secondary School.

At Nyamira, Wetangula was ushered in by West Mugirango MP Vincent Kemosi, who was elected on Wetangula's ticket but has been courting DP William Ruto.

The former Senate Minority Leader said his quest to succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta is unstoppable, adding that he's ready to take over in 2022.

"I know he has been coming here (Ruto) but it won't be business as usual. I have been in the game for a long time and I am pretty sure that we shall beat him," he said amid cheers.

On Abagusii community, Wetangula asked leaders to join Ford Kenya, arguing that the party commands respect in the region owing to the late minister Henry Obwocha.

"Now that I will be on ballot, we have to discuss with your leadership so that nobody is left behind. I have supported Raila Odinga twice and it's time for him to reciprocate," he added.

The Ford Kenya leader said he will put a formidable campaign across the country, adding that he is ready to work with like minded people across the nation.

With Raila Odinga still popular in the region, Wetangula becomes the third leader to visit after Ruto and Dr Fred Matiang'i, who are keen to inherit the support.
