The Kenya Meteorological Department (KMD) has issued an update regarding the heavy downpour being experienced in the country.
The rain has been heavily pounding most parts of the country, resulting in deaths and destruction of property.
According to the weatherman, parts of Central and Eastern Kenya will have a break for the next three days, before the rains resume.
However, the case will remain the same in Western, Nyanza and Rift Valley regions, which will continue receiving heavy rains until the end of the month.
“This will continue to the end of the month,” Bernard Chanzu, KMD Deputy Director said on Tuesday evening.
The met department has also predicted significant downpours in parts of the Coast and the raised parts of the Rift Valley.
This is being blamed on cyclones hitting the Western part of the Indian Ocean.
“We, however, are still expecting significant rainfall amounts over southeast lowlands, much of the coastal region, highlands east of the Rift Valley as well as parts of Western due to the resulting pressure gradient occasioned by these cyclones,” the weatherman said.
