Speaking during the 6th Devolution conference in Kirinyaga, Wamalwa said Raila, who has vowed to work with President Uhuru Kenyatta before he completes his second and final term in office, deserves credit for the role he has played in the liberation of this country.

He also said that the ODM Leader has always attended devolution conferences, which is a sign that he is committed to changing this nation.

“All the devolution conferences, the right honorable Prime Minister has always been with us and today we are grateful that he has made time to be with us again.

"We want to welcome him and also acknowledge his role both as a champion for democracy and a champion for devolution. We all as a nation appreciate all the sacrifices you have made and contribution you have made to get this nation where it is today,” he said.

During the conference, Raila insisted that he will not relent in the calls for the probing of leaders linked to corruption. He maintained that corruption has been one of the killers of the economy of this nation. He also advocated for the reduction of counties for better development.
