Barely a month after overseeing four events in Nyamira, Deputy President William Ruto will on Friday return to the South Nyanzan County.

Early this month, Dr Ruto was endorsed by MPs Joash Nyamoko (North Mugirango), Jerusha Momanyi (Nyamira), Shadrack Mose (Kitutu Masaba) and Vincent Kemosi (West Mugirango).

On Saturday at Ekerenyo, North Mugirango MP Joash Nyamoko, who also doubles as Gusii Parliamentary Group chairman said the DP will be touring his constituency.

The first term MP asked local leaders and residents to turn up in large numbers and grace the occasion, adding that the tour will focus on development.

"We are focused to improve the economy of our region through development. I invite all of you to come in large numbers and usher in the DP," he said.

"We shall launch a number of key projects in the region especially roads and infrastructure. The trip has nothing to do with politics," he added.

The trip will be the fourth by the DP to turn county having toured thrice since 2017 polls. He's keen to dethrone Raila Odinga from the region.

Incidentally, Nyamoko was not among several Gusii leaders who ushered in Interior Cabinet Secretary Dr Fred Matiang'i to Nyamira on Friday, a move that could raise eyebrows.

Although Ruto enjoys support from local leaders, he's yet to get support from senior leaders led by Governor John Nyagarama and Senator Okong'o Mogeni.
