A family in Homabay county is accusing a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) of circumcising their son without consent.
According to Mr Otieno Oloo, the father, the boy has been traumatized after the event that happened in December last year.
He claimed that the Impact Research and Development Organization (IRDO) performed the cut on the 11-year-old boy without consent from either him or both parents.
Speaking to the Citizen Digital Thursday, the father also accused Homabay Police for reluctance to act, claiming that they took time to act despite him reporting the case and getting an occurrence book (OB) number.
He claimed that the event was preceded by the disappearance of the boy before his re-emergence later in the day wounded and bleeding.
The operation was reportedly done at Makongeni Sub-District hospital, he claimed.
The man said that operation on the boy who was then only 10 was wrongly done, forcing the family to return him to hospital.
The organization was yet to give a comment at the time of publishing.
