Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua has commissioned a theatre at Matuu Level 4 Hospital in Yatta Sub-county.
When commissioning the project on Wednesday, Mutua said he was pleased with the changes in the health sector within the county.
He said the project on completion, will change the locals' lives.
“Inspecting the theatre bed and neonatal section at the newly commissioned Matuu Level 4 Hospital theatre. This new addition means that the people of Masinga, Yatta, Kithimani and other neighboring sub-counties do not have to travel to Machakos for caesarian sections,” Mutua tweeted on Wednesday.
Mutua promised to employ more health workers in the coming months.
He said the employment of health officers will lead to better health care.
The county boss has shown his commitment towards the improvement of health services before he completes his second and final term in office in 2022.
“My Government will by end of this month employ more health workers to ease the existing workload. We will also have short term contracts to ensure proper coverage of all medical points,” he said.
Mutua said the facility will help residents as well as non-residents
The governor has initiated several projects since he was re-elected into office after 2017 elections.
