Likoni Member of Parliament Mishi Mboko has expressed satisfaction with the strategy that Interior and Coordination of National Government Cabinet Secretary Dr Fred Matiang'i intends to deploy to deal with gangs in the Port City of Mombasa.
The MP spoke to members of the press after a closed-door meeting between Mombasa county leaders and the tough-talking CS.
"The tactics that the cabinet secretary has talked to us and other security stakeholders about, we as leaders are satisfied even before the job starts (Zile njia ama mbinu ambazo waziri ametuzungumzia pamoja na wale washikadau wa mambo ya usalama hata sisi kama viongozi tumeridhika hata kabla hiyo kazi haijaanza," the outspoken Likoni legislator said.
Her words come just days after suspected members of the outlawed Wakali Kwanza gang unleashed terror on the residents of Bamburi.
Scores of people sustained injuries after being attacked with machetes in the night attack.
The CS said that those behind the attacks would be brought to book as he drew a connection between the attacks and drug trafficking.
A number of arrests have been made as investigations continue apace.
One member of the gang was gunned down by police after he allegedly defied orders to surrender.
